Australia Wide & New Zealand

The International Police Association (Australian Section) has joined forces with Choice Hotels Australasia to obtain the best deals for IPA members residing in and visiting Australia and New Zealand.

The Choice Hotel chain is growing fast. They currently have 235 properties in Australia, 35 in New Zealand and are affiliated with over 5,700 hotels worldwide.

All IPA members need to do is quote the IPA Special Corp ID number 00069270 to Choice Hotel’s reservations staff on the free call number 13 24 00 when making a reservation or enter it on the Choice Hotels website home page to get the Best Available Rate. Members will be advised of other specials available such and bed and breakfast deals or free night deals.  The IPA member must produce their IPA membership card on arrival to get the special rate.

Also available free of charge is a Choice-Privileges card which is a rewards program that can be converted into Hotel rewards, airline rewards with participating airline (including Air New Zealand, Qantas and Velocity) or hotel gift vouchers.  IPA members joining this free rewards program will be eligible to go into a draw to win a hotel stay package. Details of this will be available soon.

The advantage of Choice Hotels is their portfolio covers the full range of hotel quality from budget 3 star EconoLodge accommodation to 3.5 star Comfort Inns, 4 star Business Level Quality Hotels and 5 star Clarion luxury boutique Hotels and resorts (including Rendezvous group). Group discounts are also available if you are holding conferences or meetings.

Another free service provided by Choice Hotels is they will canvas hotels and resorts in the area of your choice and obtain the best quotes available for conferences.

Townsville

Member offering accommodation: Darryl Nicholls is the Secretary for the Central North Queensland (Townsville) Sub-Region in Northern Queensland and he has provided the following information -
"If any police officer / s or family members are travelling to or through this Lovely Tropical Town of ours, TOWNSVILLE NQ, feel free to contact me (Darryl). All contact details are on the Central North Queensland web page. My wife and I have a lovely big comfortable house, Guest rooms / shower / bath for your personal use, a theatre room to watch movies, parke across the road with basketball court and kids play area and a great running track for those who want to go for an uninterupted workout. Just phone me and give me the dates you will be arriving and I will let you know.
We are going to London and Europe for two and a half months at the end of July and returning at the beginning of October. Senior Sergeant Gary Eddiehausen's (Kirwan Police) daughter will be looking after the house while we are away so just get in contact with Gary and he will look after you during the time we are away........
