Dear Odemo,

I acknowledge your wish to become a member of the International Police Association, Australian Section and recognise your advice that you were once an Associate Member of the UK Section.
I refer you to the International Rules (available on the International Website) in Article 2.1.b) which states:
b) Foreign Associate Membership
Members of the police service of a country, where there is no IPA Section, may be
admitted to the membership of existing Sections as Foreign Associate Members.
Such membership shall not be continued once a Section has been established.

The Executive of the Australian Section are aware of the several Sections available for you to join within the continent you reside and it is not practical for you to be a member of the Australian Section. Unfortunately, your application has been declined. Perhaps if you once held membership in the UK Section, you may consider making application for reinstatement of your old membership.

I am sorry to disappoint you and hope that you are successful in becoming a member of the International Police Association closer to where you reside.

Thank you Graham. I have allowed your feedback to be visible on the Website to remind members traveling of some of the problems they could face.
Travel with UNITED AIRLINES can be risky. They will remove you from a flight, without proper compensation, if they determine a requirement to do so. In my instance, they removed my wife and I to permit two of their pilots to travel to Chicago. Compensation provided was absolutely useless, and the company refuses to compensate you adequately unless you reside within or travel frequently to the USA, i.e. a travel voucher only usable within the USA and only on UNITED. They will not permit vouchers to be used on Star Alliance members such as Air New Zealand. They also will not return your baggage when they evict you, and will not look after the security of your luggage at your destination when you have been removed from the flight and your luggage is left on the aircraft to travel to your destination without you. Your luggage will be left sitting in the carousel area without security. Some of their staff proved to be rude and uncaring.
