2nd International IPA Friendship Week

Invitation to the 2nd International IPA Friendship Week in Selm-Bork/Germany from July 25th until August 3rd 2008

Dear IPA Friends in Australia,

first of all I would like to present our IPA-group to you: The IPA alliance Bork e. V. is part of the Regional Section North Rhine- Westphalia (NRW) and thus belongs to the German Section of the IPA. The Institut of Training, Further Education and Personal matters of the Police NRW (LAFP NRW) is seat of our group which is one of the oldest German IPA groups in the German Section having nearly 400 members at present. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of our group and hosting the European Soccer Championchip of the Police in 2006, we invited IPA Friends from all European Sections.

So we had the pleasure to welcome guests from Bulgaria, Denmark, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy Latvia, Norway, Turkey and the Ukraine. Apart from that IPA Friends from various Sections and international guests of neighbouring Sections are frequently accommodated in the buildings of our Institute ( LAFP NRW). The remarkably positive reactions, the success of the 1st Friendship Week as well as the excellent conditions offered by the LAFP NRW in Bork have encouraged us to invite IPA Friends again.

Board and lodging will be provided in our recently renovated canteen and the buildings of the LAFP NRW.

There you will find 230 rooms with high standard furnishing to be used as single, double or family rooms.

Our programme will include exchange of experience, conferences, forum discussions as well as a wide range of free time activities.

Cross-country tracks, 2 soccer fields, a gymnasium, various facilities inviting you to do judo, beach-volleyball, tennis, bowling etc. as well as a swimming-pool, sauna and steam-bath will be at your disposal.

In case your children come with you, we will be prepared to take care of them and offer a special programme for their entertainment.

In addition we are planning some trips as e. g. to the Conference and Education Centre of the IPA, Schloss Gimborn. The daily rate (all services included) will be 10,- EUR per person.

You are kindly requested to organize you journey yourself. Our car park will provide enough places.

If you are planning to travel by train or by plane, we can offer a transfer service. If you are interested in coming to Bork, please let us know as soon as possible.

Don´t forget to indicate the number of persons that will stay here the number and type of rooms you will need the dates of your arrival and departure.

You are free to choose the dates and to decide whether you want to stay for the whole period or just for a few days.

As IPA Friends you are welcome guests. Should there be no delegation of your Board coming to Bork, we would be grateful if you could pass on this invitation to another group or single members of your Section as we are interested in welcoming representatives of every Section if possible.

This invitation will also be forwarded to the International IPA Board.

We would be very pleased if you could bring your official uniforms.
